Padraig O’Leary

For Padraig O’Leary, family is at the heart of the farm in Clonakilty, with his father at one side and his young son at the other, and where barbecued Angus beef burgers have become a firm family favourite.

Padraig O’Leary lives with his wife and their three small children on the family farm in Clonakilty, West Cork. Padraig was reared on the farm and later built his own house on it. His father, who is in his late-70s, still farms alongside him. Now, Padraig is paving the way for his son, four-and-a-half year old Arthur, who is already a farming fanatic. Padraig recognises how lucky they are to farm in Clonakilty, which he describes as a really nice town in the sunny south-west. A lot of Sunday evenings are family time and weather-permitting, they spark up the barbecue and enjoy a home-cooked feast of Angus burgers.
